Are vaccinations necessary to enter Vietnam from the United Arab Emirates?

Yes. Although foreigners are not required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result upon arrival, UAE passport holders are advised to take at least 02 doses of COVID-19 vaccination before traveling to Vietnam. Vietnam has temporarily recognized COVID-19 vaccine passports or certificates from 72 countries to facilitate the entry of UAE arrivals who are fully vaccinated.

Within 10 days upon entry, UAE passengers need to adhere to the following recommendations:

  • In order to keep the Covid-19 pandemic in control, UAE citizens should closely monitor their health before their trip to Vietnam.
  • If passengers exhibit symptoms of Covid-19, please immediately notify the nearest hospitals or clinics for further instructions. In case UAE travelers test positive with COVID-19, they may have to self-isolate for 7 days. Most provinces permit self-isolation at their place of residence in Vietnam if it meets the requirements of local authorities, but UAE visitors are recommended to self-isolate in a designated quarantine center or hotel.
  • Take preventive action such as wearing a mask, or cleaning their hands with disinfectant solutions.

Though it is not mandatory, all international travelers entering Vietnam should obtain a Travel Insurance before departure. This insurance will protect travelers’ benefits, including Covid-19 treatment in case of unexpected occurrences during a journey to Vietnam. It also helps their visa application be approved by the Vietnamese Immigration Department easier.
